Perfect Sex - A Romantic Comedy About Internet Dating - A Clever Romance Novel

Ten years ago if you'd told anyone you'd joined an internet dating agency, chances were they'd have regarded you with horror or pity. The unspoken assumption among my peers was that you had to be desperate or a social outcast to do so, because you weren't able to attract a partner through the normal social channels.

But when I joined RSVP in 2002, I didn't consider myself to be in either of those categories. None of the men I dated were especially remarkable, but the interest of friends and acquaintances in my experiences (despite their avowed horror) sparked the idea of writing about internet dating.

Supposing I accepted all invitations, went out on as many dates as possible and then wrote a book about my experiences? It would be interesting, certainly, but a bit scary and somewhat unseemly behaviour for a mother of three teenage children. But what if I wrote a novel about someone doing that very thing?

So Susie Hamilton, the central character of my novel Perfect Sex was born. A freelance writer, she joins an internet dating agency under the semblance of research for a book. And she doesn't give two hoots (not much, anyway) about the unseemliness of a mother of teenagers dating hordes of men, whom she has attracted by posting a profile that makes Madonna sound like a virgin.

Susan keeps a diary of all the men she dates and I had a lot of fun creating the male characters-- a combination of men I've met, read or heard about with a large dose of imagination included. No character trait is too unbelievable when it comes to men. And no mission to find Mr Perfect, or even Mr-As-Good-As-It-Gets, would be complete without a cast of faithful buddies to offer their guidance, opinions and occasionally a shoulder to cry on-- Myf, femme fatale and toy boy collector, Annie, having a mid-life sexual identity crisis and Jules (short for Julian) who is bisexual and bi-confused.

Nowadays, internet dating agencies are so commonplace as to be passe-- with mobile dating apps like Tinder, Plenty of Fish and dozens of others. The quest to find love (not to mention sex) will never be outdated. Does Susie find it? All is divulged in the book.

Perfect Sex-- is it simply a fantasy? What does a middle-aged woman do after ending a long, unfulfilling marital relationship to find she has the sex drive of an adolescent kid? For freelance writer Susie Hamilton the response is to sign up with a web dating agency-- under the guise of professional research. With her hyped-up profile she draws in a mob of admirers and begins a tiring dating schedule. When she writes a novel based on her experiences it ends up being a best-seller, however her love life is a series of incidents and catastrophes. She experiences: Pumped-up egos and bumped-up assetsMen with more luggage than United AirlinesWho assume that sex on the first date is compulsory - and why waste time on dinner? Will Susie discover a guy to change Fred, her vibrator? Or will she need to make do with Mr-As-Good-As-It-Gets? Scroll up and click the Buy Button now to see if Susie meets her Mr Perfect Sex! This book is likewise available as a paperback in the Books area.
